Two ruts worn by the same journey made ten thousand times. It goes to one place and comes back from it, and that is the entire ambition of the road. Not every path needs to lead somewhere new.

This series is printed on canvas, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a default. The work was conceived as painting — built in thick passages and thin scraped washes — and a woven surface holds that the way a flat sheet cannot. Light catches the weave unevenly, the way it does on a real canvas, so the piece stops reading as a reproduction and starts reading as an object.
