Every row here follows the shape of the hill instead of the shortest way across it. One ribbon, wider than its neighbours, is the torn one. Planting along the contour is the slower way to do it, and the reason the hill is still here.

This series is printed on 200 gsm matte paper, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a default. The work is built from three flat inks and a halftone dot rather than from brushwork — a woven surface would break the dot apart, while a smooth sheet holds every edge exactly where it was cut, and every torn edge exactly where it tore.

Shipped unframed. Any frame shown in the photographs is there to show scale and is not included.
