Five ridges stacked one behind another, and only the nearest one is torn. Distance flattens all the others into a clean shape you agree to call a dune. The torn one is where the sand actually is.

This series is printed on 200 gsm matte paper, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a default. The work is built from three flat inks and a halftone dot rather than from brushwork — a woven surface would break the dot apart, while a smooth sheet holds every edge exactly where it was cut, and every torn edge exactly where it tore.

Shipped unframed. Any frame shown in the photographs is there to show scale and is not included.
