Two boards on the sand, waiting. Nobody has come yet, and the day has not decided what it will be. This is the hour that belongs to no one — the pause before the first footprint, when everything is still possible.

This series is printed on canvas, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a default. The work was conceived as painting — built in thick passages and thin scraped washes — and a woven surface holds that the way a flat sheet cannot. Light catches the weave unevenly, the way it does on a real canvas, so the piece stops reading as a reproduction and starts reading as an object.
